The Spring of Poets – Autumn Edition will be held for the first time in the village of Mathildedal on September 19–20, 2026. The theme of the event is “Freedom, a Living Force.”
It was inspired by “Poets’ Spring” (Le Printemps des Poètes, www.printempsdespoetes.com/Edition-2026), an event held in France every spring. The Mathildedal event takes place in September, which is why it is called “Poets’ Spring – Autumn Edition.”
The goal is to promote and celebrate poetry in its various forms. The weekend’s program will include poetry readings, panel discussions, writing workshops, music, dance, improvisation, and an open mic, among other activities. Many of the performers will be selling their own works on-site.
The event will take place in the old factory buildings at Ruukinranta. The event is organized by the Mathildedal Cultural Association, and local restaurants and businesses will be serving the public throughout the weekend. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.
This new poetry event has generated widespread interest, and more than forty leading poets and performers have already committed to participating, coming from the surrounding area as well as Helsinki, Turku, and Tampere.
